Our Story

Love is enduring, but timing is everything.

Antoine and Karen met shortly after college in the Fall of 1990. They both worked at NBC headquarters at Rockefeller Center in New York. There was an instant chemistry between a young Philadelphia native in her page uniform and the suited Chicago man who just mastered a proper tie knot.

A solid friendship grew and attraction blossomed.

Career pursuits eventually landed Karen in Hollywood to hone her craft in entertainment. While the winds of ambition carried Antoine across the country producing news and sports before docking in Connecticut. The couple still managed to stay in touch and connected over the years …even before texting and social media. They supported each other through triumph and tragedy.

In the process love was slowly conquering time.

It was 2016 when Antoine took a business trip to Los Angeles and had brunch with Karen. During that meeting they knew it was time to stop running separate races in life and give in to their deep feelings. A bi-coastal romance ensued thanks to a big assist from frequent flyer programs, cell phones, facetime and email.

Their hearts began to beat with one loving rhythm.

In December, 2018 Antoine proposed to Karen. They are both producers, so it was done on live television in Philadelphia on The Q Show.  So on this day they welcome biological and extended family to witness a love story nearly thirty years and ten cities in the making.

Love has endured and it this is the time to unite them as one.

What should I wear?

Beach Semi-Formal Wedding Attire for Women

We’ll be in the Caribbean, so that means it will be hot! When considering your attire, we suggest lightweight, non-clingy fabrics to stay cool and unwrinkled. Think colorful, flowy midi or maxi dresses, pretty sundresses or jumpsuits that pair well with a pashmina or cardigan for those ocean breezes (should you need one). Since you’ll likely be walking in sand (no easy feat in high heels!), pair dressy wedges, block heels or flat sandals with your outfit so you can dance the night away with us!

Beach Semi-Formal Wedding Attire for Men

Fabrics like linen, light cottons and seersucker are highly recommended. A summer suit or some variation of it—a shirt and tie, a shirt, tie and vest, or a shirt and blazer—are typical choices. To change up the look on your suit, swap out your tie, add a pocket square and you’re on your way.  Lighten things up by opting for a breathable linen-blend blazer instead of a traditional suit jacket. A button up linen shirt and lightweight pants are also great choices. We want you to be comfortable above all else.

And, don’t be afraid to sport a pair of nice sandals. Just don’t forget the pedicure!

Tip: Remember to keep your skin protected, since the sun may be glaring down with little to no shade. Remember to bring your sunglasses!
